Getting
Started with WinGate Home
i. Configuring the WinGate Dialer Service
Before WinGate can share any existing dialup connections you must set these up in GateKeeper (System Service tab, Dialer). Simply enter your username and passwords for each account, and select your primary and secondary connections. These connections will then be available to dial on demand when required by WinGate (more on this in the help file).
Getting
Started with WinGate Pro or Standard
i. Logging On to GateKeeper for the First Time
Double-click the WinGate Engine Monitor which will appear as an icon in the system tray (bottom right-hand corner of the screen). This will open GateKeeper which will automatically prompt you to login. Ensure you use the default settings EXACTLY as they appear (do NOT enter a password yet). The default settings should be:
Username | Administrator |
Password | <leave blank!!!> |
Server | localhost (or 127.0.0.1), Port 808 |
If the engine is not started, GateKeeper will offer to start it for you (only when you login from localhost). Usernames and passwords are case sensitive for added security

You may now want to setup some users and a basic policy set to govern how WinGate shares the connection.
